The 2-4-1 Winter Carnival is a vibrant, nostalgic celebration of outdoor winter play, reminiscent of a time when the cold weather was not seen as a barrier, but rather as an enhancement to the fun. Emphasizing the joy of playing in the crisp winter air, this event is particularly focused on showing children the value of outdoor activities. The carnival offers a weekly opportunity for kids to engage in snow play, learn to organize themselves into small-sided games, and discover how traditional summer games can be transformed into exciting winter versions. Among the activities are favorites like team handball, Ultimate Frisbee, capture the flag, and touch football. Moreover, the carnival promises surprise snow or ice activities, depending on the weather. This free program, a collaboration with Active City Hartford, invites kids to bring a friend, and parents are encouraged to participate too. It’s a delightful way to celebrate the winter season and the joys of outdoor play.
