Lauren Williams

Lauren Williams hails from Zimbabwe and began teaching history, English literature, and social sciences at the Girls’ College High School in Zimbabwe. She also was the head coach of the school’s squash program and assistant coach for the field hockey team.

Lauren graduated from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, where she was a history major and philosophy and geology minor. Lauren also competed for the Bates field hockey and squash teams. Lauren received Academic All-NESCAC honors in both squash and field hockey. She was named captain of the squash team and earned the Coach’s Award and Most Valuable Player in 2016. During her senior campaign in squash, Lauren helped her Bates team to win the Walker Cup, at trophy presented to the C Division of the National Team Championship, for the first time in program history, one of her favorite sports memories.

Lauren teaches history at Loomis, lives on campus, and serves as an affiliate in Ammidon Hall. Her favorite sports team is the Dutch women’s field hockey team, and she believes Serena Williams is one of the all-around greatest athletes.
