
Simon enjoyed his childhood playing many different sports both in a competitive and recreational environment. Simon went on to compete in collegiate rugby at Douglas College and then football at UBC, winning a CIAU National Championship in 1997. While at UBC, he coached the women’s rugby team and organized and coached in the Kinetic Cup Women’s Football jamboree fundraising for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. He eventually completed his degrees in Human Kinetics & Education, specializing in Physical Education and Linguistics. Simon also completed a Post Degree Diploma in Physical and Health Education as well as a Masters Program of Arts in Physical Education. Simon coached rugby at the club level winning 2 Provincial Championships in Men’s Rugby. Simon currently teaches PE and coaches high school rugby, is an executive member of the BC Girls Rugby Association and currently the Athletic Director at Gleneagle Secondary. On his spare time, he enjoys mountain biking, playing masters rugby, and spending time playing an array of movement activities with his family.
