About Camp

Kick Off an Unforgettable Summer in Austin at Kealing Middle School. 2-4-1 Sports is Excited to Launch Our Inaugural Camp in Texas in East Austin on the beautiful campus of Kealing Middle School.

For the first time, 2-4-1 Sports brings its innovative play-based sports camp to a campus in Texas!

At 2-4-1 Sports, we combine the thrill of play with the power of sports sampling to inspire kids of all ages. Campers will discover the joy of trying multiple sports each day, experiencing firsthand how skills learned in one activity build confidence and ability in another.

“Life’s Too Short 4 Just 1 Sport” isn’t just a tagline — it’s the heart of what we do. By encouraging diverse and playful experiences, we give children the tools they need to fall in love with being active for life. Our days are packed with nonstop movement, fun, and exploration, where every camper plays at least three sports daily and is encouraged to try something new.

Here’s What Campers Can Expect at Kealing:

  • Junior 2-4-1 (Division 1 & 2): A specially tailored program for our youngest athletes (rising K and grades 1-2), designed to introduce them to the joy of sports in a fun and supportive environment.
  • Division 3 (Grades 3-8): Older campers customize their day by choosing three sports from an exciting lineup, including:
    • Baseball
    • Basketball
    • 2-4-1 Lacrosse
    • Flag Football
    • Soccer
    • Tennis
    • Universal Sports

How It Works:
Campers start each morning with our energetic opening ceremonies, where they’ll receive personalized schedules based on their sport selections. For those who can’t decide or want even more variety, Universal Sports is the perfect option — introducing campers to at least five additional sports during the week!

Important Registration Details:
When registering, please review the sport options with your child to finalize their preferences. Crafting our master schedule is a detailed process, and changes at the start of camp, while possible, may incur a small fee.

Why 2-4-1 Austin at Kealing?

Junior 2-4-1

Age Group Divisions for 2-4-1 Sports Camp
Our camp is organized into three age group divisions based on the grade your child will enter in Fall 2025:

  • Division 1: Rising Kindergartners
  • Division 2: Rising 1st and 2nd Graders
  • Division 3: Rising 3rd through 9th Graders

While Divisions 1 and 2 follow the same schedule as our traditional camp, the programming is specifically designed to be age-appropriate and developmentally engaging.

In line with the “2-4-1 Crossover Effect” philosophy, we aim to ensure that our youngest campers transition into our traditional program with a strong foundation of positive experiences. Our staff focuses on blending skill-building with serious fun to create an introduction to multiple sports that leaves them excited and eager for more.

Division 1 and 2 Campers

  • Program Details:
Junior campers don’t choose their sports — we bring the sports to them! This allows us to expose them to a variety of activities in a structured, fun, and supportive environment. Campers in these divisions do not need to bring any equipment.
  • Dedicated Staff:
Each division has its own dedicated directors and counselors, ensuring a tailored and focused experience. Please note that programs are run separately, and we are unable to accommodate sibling or friend requests across divisions. Additionally, we cannot make exceptions to the grade requirements for each division.
  • Special Requirements for Division 1:
To ensure your child is ready for our active curriculum:

    • Division 1 campers must have participated in a full-day school or camp experience (at least 6 hours) before attending 2-4-1 Sports. This helps ensure they are comfortable with the structure and activity level of our program.
    • Parents must document this prior experience during the application process.
    • Campers must also be fully potty trained.

We’re committed to providing a safe, fun, and engaging introduction to sports for our youngest participants while building the skills and confidence they need to grow as athletes and individuals.

What is Universal Sports?

Universal Sports: A Daily Adventure of Fun and Discovery!

Universal Sports is the ultimate choice for campers who crave variety and love surprises! This dynamic option keeps kids on their toes, as they never know what exciting activity they’ll encounter each day. The program is designed to introduce campers to unique sports and games they may not have tried before, often made possible through collaborations with local community organizations and clubs.

Here’s just a taste of what Universal Sports might include – please note the options vary at our camps across North America:

  • Golf: Partnering with First Tee or other community organizations to teach putting, chipping, and swinging in a fun and supportive way.
  • Fencing: Introducing campers to the art of swordplay with expert instruction from a local fencing club.
  • GaGa: Engaging in this fast-paced Israeli dodgeball game, a perennial favorite that combines agility, strategy, and fun.
  • Pickleball: Learning this popular paddle sport that’s taking the world by storm and is perfect for all ages and skill levels.
  • Frisbee Golf: Combining precision and creativity as campers navigate a unique “course” designed right on campus.
  • Spikeball: Mastering this fast-paced, volleyball-inspired game that’s as exciting to watch as it is to play.
  • Team Handball: Exploring this Olympic sport that blends elements of soccer and basketball for an exhilarating experience.
  • Yoga or Mindfulness Activities: Adding a balance of relaxation and focus with guided sessions to help campers recharge and connect.

Whatever the activity, Universal Sports ensures campers are not just having fun but also developing transferable skills that enhance their performance in traditional sports. By embracing the spirit of play and exploration, Universal Sports expands horizons, builds confidence, and adds a unique layer of excitement to every camper’s day.

Before/After Care

For families needing flexibility with drop-off or pick-up times, we offer Before and After Care to ensure your camper has a safe and supervised environment, making it easier for them to attend camp.

  • Supervision and Play:
All campers in Before and After Care will be supervised by a member of the 2-4-1 staff and provided with opportunities for continued play and engagement.
  • Location:
Drop-off and pick-up for Before and After Care take place in the Kealing gymnasium.
  • Pricing Options:
    • Before Care: 7:00 AM – 8:30 AM ($60 for the week)
    • After Care: 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM ($60 for the week)

Families can choose either or both options during the registration process.

  • Single-Day Options:
For those needing occasional care, single-day segments are available for $15 each. These can be purchased and funded through your camper’s canteen account.

Let us help make your schedule easier while ensuring your camper has a safe and fun experience all day long!

Lunch/Canteen

While lunch will be provided for free by the Austin Independent School District, we’re excited to offer a canteen  option during camp, giving campers the ability to purchase snacks.

  • Lunch Options:
Campers can bring their own lunch or receive lunch for free in the Kealing cafeteria.
  • Canteen Details:
The canteen is always a highlight for campers! It offers a variety of drinks, snacks, and treats to keep them energized throughout the day.

    • You can pre-fund your child’s canteen account during registration.
    • Canteen accounts can also be funded or replenished throughout the week at camp.
  • Tips for Parents:
We recommend discussing spending limits with your child beforehand. Our canteen operates on a debit/credit system, so it’s helpful to set clear guidelines for how they manage their account.

Whether your camper is refueling with a delicious lunch or enjoying a special treat from the canteen, we’ve got them covered!
