Set-up

Partners decide who will be the Car and who will be the Driver. The Car closes their eyes or can be blindfolded with a bandana while the Driver stands directly behind them.

How to Play

The teacher calls out different driving situations: City Driving (3 careful steps, 90° turn), Country Driving (wander safely around the room), Indy Driving (slowly around the room’s perimeter). Drivers guide their Car using only gentle verbal directions. Switch roles every 30–60 seconds.

Rules

No touching.
Walk only.
Drivers are responsible for their partner's safety.
Switch roles frequently.

Keep It Going

Add obstacles.
Silent version — hand signals only.
Backwards driving.
Student-created driving commands.

ESY Modification

  • Keep eyes partially open if needed.
  • Walk very slowly.
