Set-up

Create teams of 8–10. Everyone forms a single-file line with hands on the shoulders of the person in front. The first person is the Dragon’s Head; the last is the Dragon’s Tail. You do need adequate space to do this activity.

How to Play

When the Tail calls “Go!”, the Head attempts to catch the Tail without breaking the dragon apart. If the line separates, the round ends. Rotate leaders so everyone experiences being both Head and Tail.

Rules

Stay connected.
Move safely.
No pulling.
Rotate positions each round.

Keep It Going

Smaller dragons
Obstacle course route.
Two dragons competing.
Timed rounds.

  • Use shorter lines.
  • Walking only.
  • Increase space to reduce collisions.
  • Provide frequent rotation breaks.
