About 2-4-1 Fencing – Next Level with Active City
Saturdays 10am-11am, (January 27 – March 23)
2-4-1 Fencing Level 1 offers an accessible and engaging introduction to fencing for kids, emphasizing affordability and fun. This program uses foam “noodles” and optional safety goggles to teach the basics of fencing, making it safe and approachable for beginners. The curriculum focuses on the torso as the target area, with points scored by touching the noodle’s end to this area. Hits outside the torso are not counted, allowing for continuous play.
Building on the foundation of Level 1, 2-4-1 Fencing – Next Level, is designed for children who have either completed the Level 1 program or possess a basic understanding of fencing. This advanced stage aims to accelerate learning, moving more swiftly towards free fencing and friendly competition-style tournaments. The Next Level program retains the fun and engaging elements of Level 1 while introducing more complex techniques and strategies, aligning closer with Olympic-style fencing.
