About 2-4-1 Youth Run Club

Bushnell Park, Hartford, CT

2-4-1 Youth Running Club
Tuesdays, September 9 – October 28 | 5:30–6:30 PM
FREE for Hartford Residents this fall

The 2-4-1 Youth Running Club introduces children to the joy of running through fun, engaging activities that build both physical fitness and emotional resilience. Participants develop confidence, connectedness, and a lasting love for the sport in a supportive community environment.

Now entering its fourth year, the program continues to grow stronger each season. Thanks to the generous support of the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, Active City, and the Bushnell Park Foundation, it is being offered free of charge for Hartford residents this fall. We also acknowledge with gratitude the positive role Hartbeat Track Club played in helping establish this program!

The Program

Led by Coach Jake Koteen, 2-4-1 staff,  and volunteers, participants will break into small groups each night for warm-ups with their assigned coaches, enjoy large group games, and take part in fun running-related contests. We also hope to partner with the Bushnell Park Foundation again this year to conclude the program with a race around Bushnell Park—starting and finishing under the iconic arches—followed by a free ride on the famous Bushnell Park Carousel (to be confirmed).
